The public monologue of a future PR girl

A social media darling takes to tumblr like a nerd to Mashables.

A salad so addictive you’ll think it’s laced with crack
I have recently become obsessed with the creation of elaborate salads. This one was inspired by something I saw a friend eating and had to recreate.
I can’t stop eating it, and since it is called a salad I will continue to do so guilt free.
You’ll need:
1 small sweet potato
Arugula
2 teaspoons crumbled blue cheese
1.5 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
dash cumin
dash black pepper
Get it done:
Preheat oven to 400F. Chop sweet potato into chunks (I left the skin on because my parents always said that was good for me, don’t necessarily feel peer pressured to do the same). Dry roast sweet potato for 20-30 minutes depending on how moody your oven is, turn at half time.
While that’s happening start to load up your favourite show (I am currently obsessed with The Newsroom on HBO so maybe check that out).
Then mix together the olive oil, balsamic, cumin and pepper.
Throw a handful or three of arugula (just use your judgement) into a mixing bowl, add blue cheese and your homemade dressing. When the sweet potatoes are a bit brown on the outside and feel soft in the middle add them to your salad.
Toss.
Devour.
Love and other chaos,

Welcome to my public monologue

The creation of this Tumblr is long overdue.  As a student of public relations and a self-proclaimed “social media darling” I must admit that I should have entered the blogosphere long ago.  But as they say “there’s no time like the present.”

I am sure that my interests will become obvious as I grow to accept Tumblr into my heart but in the meantime here is a preview of some of my professional and not-so-professional interests.

1. Public relations, I am finishing up my schooling to move into a successful career as a “professional communicator”.  I’ve got my fingers crossed for removing the “future” out of my title.

2. Food, keep on the look out for many recipes that I will try and few recipes that I will have success with.

3. Fashion, most PR girls have a shopping addiction embedded somewhere in their DNA.  I am no exception to this rule.

4. Social media, I said I was a darling of the stuff so I might as well keep you abreast of what’s going on.

5. Tech (unless it’s PC… gross.)  I read the Steve Jobs bio like any good girl with an iPhone and a Macbook, if it’s Apple I’m into it.

I am interested in a whole load of other things too but you don’t have time to read about all of that.  Follow the Tumblr and you can decide for yourself what I love to blog about.

Love and other chaos,

Your future PR girl
